Could you imagine if you were
Nicephore Niepce who took the world’s first photography, and was able to pass
through time and see what we do today with photography? To see the size of a
camera now to what it was then. Not to have to perfectly measure and mix chemicals.
We went from developing film, with several chemicals and different recipes for different
styles of results and varieties of film, to downloading a picture on a card and
manipulating it on the camera itself or in a computer program like Photoshop.
No dark rooms needed with the red light above the door to tell someone do not
enter developing process is being done. No figuring out what film to use with
what camera and for which kind of lighting.
Back when photography was just
getting started it took 8 hours to process one photograph. And we thought
waiting for our film to get back in a week was long. Oh and then they started
the one hour kiosks, that was super-fast. But now we have our images in
seconds. Boy have we come a long ways.
What if Nicephore Niepce could look
through the lens we have now, from micron to outer space. First thought was probably
unbelievable.
