What makes a good photograph. Photo by: Federico, from Italy
Yes this is the picture from the f-stop site we read, but I just love this picture. I want to draw it, and I may. 1. Does this picture understand what generally satisfies? Yes most of us are curious about those back alley's. 2. Does it stimulate and provoke? I think with the mystery of an alley and that it is night, and all those doors and paths and corners can stimulate and provoke. 3. Is it mulit-layered ? Yes this alley can probably tell many stories, the graffiti on one door is another level, the texture everywhere is another level, and where the picture is taken from can tell another story another perspective. 4. Fits a cultural content, at night the alley has one life and during the day I am sure it has a whole other. 5. Contains an idea. How an ugly alley can be quite beautiful, I like the roundness (lens), and the direction the picture was taken from. 6. Is true to the medium, yes.

Feelings-moods: I think I try to communicate beauty, aw effect and try to tell a story with my photo's. I don't feel that in this weeks photo's. Maybe the story part.
Subject and placement: the white balance photos are set up like still life's. The recycle pictures are things to be reused.
Multilayered: I don't think this weeks picture have any multilayer's.
No depth of field in these photo's.
